The importance of investing on the territory: SAPA Sponsors Benevento Calcio for the 2018/2019 season
Today, I want to tell you about something that fills me with price.
It’s something that started back in 2919, in Benevento. Times were different back then, and it surely wasn’t easy. A bunch of kids started meeting more and more frequently in town, in a neighborhood known as “Witch Town Freedom.”
It was a very strange neighborhood with a magical power: it managed to make all problems disappear – at least temporarily. It did so for all the kids that were joining in on a new game, which was becoming more and more popular.
It was in 1929 that Benevento Calcio was founded.
Ever since it was founded, Società Sportiva Littorio Benevento has had to deal with numerous challenges and overcome obstacles. Incredible achievements and painful losses.
As I’m saying it, I realize it is not just the story of Benevento Calcio, but rather of all the territory.
It is not an easy area, which has never stopped working to try and overcome its struggles.
It’s the same territory that granted my father, myself and my siblings so many opportunities.
Opportunities that SAPA was able not to miss.
How?
Investing, first and foremost, on infrastructure, training and research.
Also, trying to bring our talents back home: all of those people who had to leave their hometowns. SAPA tries to grant these people a chance to come back, offering cutting-edge training, in accordance with Industry 4.0.
A good example of this, is the Angelo Affinita Award, which SAPA set up in order to grant scholarships to students from all Europe. Students who have worked on innovative project related to the Automotive industry.
Last year, we decided to become official sponsors for Benevento Calcio, to celebrate and support their Serie A debut. This year, we’re going to do exactly the same, no matter the fact they were relegated to Serie B; because every defeat hides a new challenge and a new beginning, as Benevento has always proven to us.
My brother, Antonio Affinita, CEO of SAPA, mentioned this subject:
“This year, once again, we have decided to invest on the territory, acquiring the Selmat Group in Piemonte, and also investing in the Benevento area where we are based.
We have confirmed our will to invest on the work and talent of our people. So, we’re proud to support Benevento Calcio in yet another challenge, in spite of last year’s results not going as everyone was hoping.
From my own personal experience, on both a professional and personal leve, I know that when we fall we learn the most. Benevento had an incredible run, reaching Serie A starting from the minor leagues. It goes to show what a strong team it is.
We believe in such strength and want to confirm our support, now more than ever.”
We’ll keep following Benevento Calcio, knowing that we’re taking part in an incredible adventure.
Knowing that we’re supporting the growth of this team, is something that I can’t begin to describe.
Even our customers, who have chosen SAPA throughout the years, have contributed to making it what it is today, taking a leap of faith back in the days when we were starting. It something that requires trust.
And it is that same trust that we want to place on Benevento Calcio.
Once more… Go Stregoni!
