IZB Effect: SAPA wins car makers over and tells the Wolfsburger Nachrichten about its innovative method
We told ourselves that it would be a challenge
We evaluated risks and opportunities, weighed out the workload and the commitment that this would require.
We prepared for the IZB by trying to eliminate the error margin, by working hard and by preparing ourselves over the months. And when I talk about “preparing”, I don’t only mean working extra hours and having sleepless nights.
I mean we tried to imagine something new, something that – at least here – had never been done before.
I am sure you know what I’m talking about.
Very often, one may think that our work is only about technique – that’s how we’re often seen from outside. But, as you know, when one envisages creating something new, imagination is a fundamental ingredient, also in our sector.
IZB was a real opportunity for us to find the right way to tell people about what we do at SAPA.
It is not always easy to put in words a discipline that is so much about numbers! But that was our objective: telling about the One-Shot® Method.
Many visitors indeed could complete the path to becoming a One-Shot® Expert and stopped to talk to our SAPA Geniuses: they asked questions and went in depth, into details.
For us this was a source of great pride: seeing interest in the eyes of people discovering our work.
The paper Wolfsburger Nachrichten dedicated an entire page to us.
The One-Shot® method won over German car makers and not only them.
I think this is proof of the big success that this edition of the IZB represented for the work we are and have been carrying out, especially over the past few years.
Our company is ready to face the challenges lying ahead in the automotive sector: Horizon 2020, the lightening of cars, electric cars becoming more and more popular, and all that innovation will bring about.
SAPA does not stop.
The IZB was a challenge, but at the same time it was the first showcase of the new component that out Innovation Engineering department has been working on for months.
As you know, the production of a new component, for us starts with a long research and experimentation phase.
Its name is One-Shot® Aerodynamic Shield and I can’t wait to present it to you.
In the meantime, please find attached the translation of the article, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
