How the auto parts production industry is saving the environment

Just a few days ago, ACEA (the European association of automotive manufacturing sector) published a news article that simply says:

“In 2016, 2.2 million more cars were produced compared to 2013, for equal CO2 emissions”.

What does it mean? It means that more cars are produced, but also that less polluting emissions are produced.

Who says that the industry is not sensitive to these dynamics – is simply lying.

The proof is in the numbers.

Any product for a car has a minimum life of 10 years and a maximum that exceeds 20.

This means that today’s choices will have repercussions for the next 20 years.

AND SAPA?

We are following this trend of deep and concrete attention to the environment:

1. We have started the Biopolis project, focused on the use of materials derived from recycled material or of natural origin, like wood or hemp.
2. In 5 years we have installed over 2,800 square meters of solar panels, which feed our production and have produced 337.38 MWh of photovoltaic energy, avoiding the pollution of the air with 178.81 tons of CO2
3. The painting line has the world’s finest technology available for fine dust reduction, and the water used in the system itself is at closed loop and completely sealed off from drainage and groundwater
4. By the end of this year we will complete the complete replacement of Arpaia plant lighting with LED lamps, reducing lighting consumption by 59% with a saving of 86.146 kWh / year
