THE COMEBACK OF THE SOUTH OF ITALY BEGINS IN THE CAMPANIA REGION: THE BUSINESSES OF EXCELLENCE THAT MAKE THE REGION THRIVE.

From the pages of the Il Sole 24 Ore, Mr Giorgio Pogliotti tells about the South of Italy in a whole new way, about its innovative businesses worth investing in. SAPA stands out amongst these.

Swimming against the stream is not easy. To tell the truth, in our sector it is often considered more of a risk than an advantage. You know what I mean, don’t you?

The certainty of doing-things-the-same-old-way is on one hand a certainty but on the other hand it defeats the possibility of doing better.

For example, if I go to the same restaurant every Saturday evening, I have the advantage of knowing what’s on the menu, of knowing for sure that I will be served good food, maybe I will get a recurring customer discount, in time they might keep the best table for me and when friends will ask for advice I will know where to point them to.

But certainly, this habit will prevent me from discovering the restaurants nearby, which might be even better in any possible way. Price, quality, atmosphere and friendliness.

An old dilemma, yet still unsolved.

And I am sure that if you work in this sector, you face this dilemma every day. Very often our work entails small decisions that together become critical for a business and have repercussions on many. And behind this burden is a huge responsibility.

I went through this myself when we launched the One-Shot® Method, a unique and highly innovative method.

As a matter of fact, it is the world’s fastest method to produce car parts, many of which have already been patented and are industrialised on Alfa Romeo, Ferrari, FCA, Volkswagen and many more. In short, it is a certainty.

At the beginning of this endeavour, however, it was admittedly not easy to introduce such a different option in such a conservative context. We had to work really hard and demonstrate that we had a solid option that could be trusted.

Thinking back to the restaurant analogy: the first restaurant that you decide to spend your night at is not necessarily the right one for you. Which leaves you with two alternatives: going back to your usual place or look around and dare.

We chose the latter. And we didn’t have to wait long for the results to materialise.

Today the quality of One-Shot® products and the advantages of the method are certified by many awards, like FCA Supplier of the Year 2018 and the Felix Industry Award, which we received (for the second time) a couple of days ago.

On 1st of May the Il Sole 24 Ore dedicated an article to the dynamism of the businesses from Southern Italy that react to times of crisis. The article places SAPA among the most innovative ones, with the One-Shot® Method representing an opportunity to innovate the automotive sector.

One of the research centres linked to Gruppo Intesa San Paolo recorded a consolidation of the Southern business network that represents 60% of the national balance.

The Campania region is in first place.

The stubborn and contrary path that we decided to go down years ago, is no longer a dream but a tangible reality that tells the story of a growing business.
